Planning a trip can be difficult. With Enshi especially, it can be hard to find actually helpful resources online. Fear not, because here in this post, I’ve compiled all of the information you’ll need about what to do and see in Enshi China!
What to do and see in Enshi China: Hiking!!!
Are you an outdoorsy person? Well you’re in lucky, because Enshi has an abundance of hiking options!
From Pingshan Canyon, to Enshi China’s Grand Canyon, to Luyanping Forest Area, you’ll have plenty of trails to get your hands (I mean, boots) on during your time in Enshi.

Walking & Low Intensity Trails
Love the outdoors, but worried about steep staircases, long trails, and achy joints? Fear not: Enshi still has you covered!
The lower trails of the Enshi Grand Canyon still have some stairs, but is mostly flat, and even has an elevator to take you back to the surface.
Similarly, Suoyabu Stone Forest is a very light trail compared to the Canyons. There are still some stairs, but it is relatively light and shouldn’t be terribly taxing for most travelers.
The Enshi Geocentric Valley, Shiziguan Park, and Enshi Wujiatai Tea Plantation are also low-impact outdoor options for Enshi travelers.

Cultural Tourism
Enshi is home to the Tujia and Miao minorities, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn about them!
Tusi City provides a look at some Tujia architecture (rebuilt quite a few times during the past thousand years) and provides insights into the beliefs and practices of the ancient culture.
The Tujia Daughter Town is a nightlife spot, where plenty of restaurants, shops, and tourist opportunities will give you a chance to grab all of the souvenirs you need, while also seeing some Tujia culture.
Wujiatai Tea Plantation is also a very enriching experience, which will give you a glimpse into Enshi’s tea industry.
Try Enshi Tujia Traditional Foods
Some of the foods in Enshi can rarely be found in other parts of China. So be sure to fuel up on some of Enshi’s most famous dishes while you’re there!
HeZha is one of the tastiest, creamiest dishes you’ll find in all of China. There are some variations of how it’s prepared, so definitely plan to eat this scrumptious Enshi favorite at least a few times during your stay!

Sightsee/People Watch
Honestly, some of our best moments in Enshi came from just walking through Enshi city, chatting with locals, and trying street foods. Of all the things to do and see in Enshi China, this has to be one of my favorites.
We found that everyone was very kind and willing to chat with us foreigners. Actually, I think the people in Enshi were the friendliest we’ve come across during our travels in China.
The best part about sightseeing and people watching (aside from being absolutely free) is that it lets you get more acquainted with the heartbeat of the city, and what life there is like.
So definitely carve out some time to just wander and take in the beauty of Enshi’s day to day life!
